A Twist of Lemmon

"Jack Lemmon was a credit to his profession because he was a man whose humanity was bigger than his talent. And when you think for a moment about the size and depth of that talent, then you begin to understand how seriously he took his role as a human being." - Kevin Spacey, from the foreword

Jack Lemmon appeared in dozens of American movie classics, including Some Like It Hot, The Odd Couple, Days of Wine and Roses, and The China Syndrome, and he worked with many of film history’s greats, among them Marilyn Monroe, Billy Wilder, George Cukor, Jack Nicholson, Walter Matthau, and Tony Curtis. He was a major star, but he was also a beloved family man, and those two characters, understandably, don’t always appear together in the same film. In A Twist of Lemmon, Jack’s son Chris Lemmon offers a heartwarming remembrance of father and son times spent fishing and chasing adventure in Alaska, teeing off at Pebble Beach and other renowned golf greens, playing their favorite songs at the piano, and sharing private moments that build character across generations and create a lifetime of memories.

Not a formal biography of film achievements, A Twist of Lemmon is, rather, a biography of family achievements. Includes personal tributes from Julie Andrews, Neil Simon, Tony Curtis, Shirley MacLaine, and other stars.

Theatre World Volume 62, 2005-2006

The most complete annual record of American theatre.

Celebrating its 62 year, Theatre World remains the authoritative and pictorial record of the season on Broadway, Off Broadway, and Off-Off Broadway, and for regional companies. Volume 62 features the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Jersey Boys, which also earned a Theatre World Award and Tony Award for its star, John Lloyd Young, while British imports Richard Griffiths and The History Boys gave lessons on how to earn rave reviews as well. Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon returned to her theatre roots to score a Tony in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Rabbit Hole. Other highlights of the season include the Off Broadway smash hit Grey Gardens, which would eventually land on Broadway. Regionally, the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre's The Drowsy Chaperone would also eventually transfer to Broadway.

As always, Theatre World's outstanding features include:

• An expanded section of professional regional productions from across the U.S.

• An expanded listing of all the major theatrical awards

• The longest running shows on and Off Broadway

• Biographical data, obituaries, and a comprehensive index
